DON'T BE AFRAID, JUST BELIEVE!

MARK.5.21-43.
When Jesus had again crossed over by boat to the other side of the lake, a large crowd gathered around him while he was by the lake. Then one of the synagogue leaders, named Jairus, came, and when he saw Jesus, he fell at his feet. He pleaded earnestly with him, “My little daughter is dying. Please come and put your hands on her so that she will be healed and live.” So Jesus went with him. A large crowd followed and pressed around him. And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years. She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, because she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.” Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.   At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my clothes?”    “You see the people crowding against you,” his disciples answered, “and yet you can ask, ‘Who touched me?’ ”   But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and, trembling with fear, told him the whole truth. He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.”    While Jesus was still speaking, some people came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue leader. “Your daughter is dead,” they said. “Why bother the teacher anymore?”   Overhearing what they said, Jesus told him, “Don’t be afraid; just believe.”    He did not let anyone follow him except Peter, James and John the brother of James. When they came to the home of the synagogue leader, Jesus saw a commotion, with people crying and wailing loudly. He went in and said to them, “Why all this commotion and wailing? The child is not dead but asleep.”  But they laughed at him. After he put them all out, he took the child’s father and mother and the disciples who were with him, and went in where the child was. He took her by the hand and said to her, “Talitha koum!” (which means “Little girl, I say to you, get up!” ). Immediately the girl stood up and began to walk around (she was twelve years old). At this they were completely astonished. He gave strict orders not to let anyone know about this, and told them to give her something to eat.

God is in control of everything. He works things out in His own ways and time. Meditating  chapter 5 of Mark about the story of Jesus healing the bleeding woman and raising back to life a young girl. There's this one question i got after reading the story; did Jesus got delayed on his way to heal the young girl and that caused her death because someone blocked his way? Im talking about the woman who's been bleeding for twelve years who also needed Jesus help. Jairus, the father of the young girl, desperately got on his way to Jesus to ask for her daughter to get healed. As Jesus started to go on his way to where the dying young girl was, someone uexpectedly took hold of Jesus and kinda stole the attention of Jesus; the bleeding woman. everywhere Jesus went he is crowded with so many people with diffirent intentions and concerns. This bleeding woman is just one of those crowd pressing her way  because she heared and believed that she'll be healed once she got near with Jesus. In desperation she push herself hard towards Jesus with just a desire of taking hold the fringe of Jesus robe, not demanding for full attention from him. She believed  that one touch is enough to heal her, and she might be thinking that Jesus has another priority on that moment. The woman successfully got a hold of Jesus' robe and miraculously received healing. Her act of faith got Jesus attention. Jesus felt a power released from him and it ceased him from walking to find out who's faith that is so powerful that moved his power. What about the dying girl who  badly needs his help? Jesus needs to keep going for him to save the girl but Jesus has his own way of doing things. He stopped and took time to find who would that be and later on that bleeding woman got more than what she asked for, more than just touching Jesus robe. As soon as Jesus knew that it was the  bleeding woman, he took time to talk to the woman, affirming and confirming her total healing. After this amazing scene there came a bad news, the girl whom Jesus needed to heal already died. Did Jesus missed it? If he just go straight, undisturb by the bleeding woman he possibly prevented the young girl to die.It came to him first before that bleeding woman, and why Jesus didnt prioritize it? This question got me. If i were on that moment i would probably think why did Jesus delayed his way to heal the girl. I feel regret and pity for the father and the girl. The worst outcome would be blaming Jesus and the bleeding woman.

                                                                        ❇❇❇

There are times in my life that i thought Jesus is slow in keeping his promises; things are not happening that way it should be and Jesus is more concern about others more than me. I thought that everything is too late, just like the girl who died because Jesus got interrupted to someone's need. This leads me to thinking that I am His least priority and others on the other side deserves an immediate attention. These were the lies i believed in and it caused me to doubt Jesus. I felt punished from all of my failures to him , from all of my sin and i keep on asking God what did i do to deserve  it. My confidence in him slowly to weaken and everything  that consumes my heart and mind is distrust and pain. It feels like you're getting there, almost there, and your pushing hard more because you can see it coming on your way and suddenly the button pause is pressed; it cuts all the excitement and the extreme joy you have. I thought this is one of the most terrible feeling someone will encounter.
Why does God allow pause or break moments in my life? When everything seems good, why there has to be a detour that would somehow add more time that made the journey long and tough. There are a lot of things i learned and realized from this experience and one of those is the state of my heart during those pause moment. Practically i was hurt and in pain, having a hard time to understand and accept the situtation. My heart was totally blinded from seeing what God is doing and is able to do with the situation, all i know is that everything is in chaos. I have all these regrets and thoughts that if God just did this and that, this would not have happened. Yet after all the drama, i came to my senses that He is God and I am not; my discenment of things cannot be compared on how God does it. This truth brought me to a place of remorse and nothingness; indeed I am no good apart from him and who am i to question him and tell God what to do. This breakthrough usher me to total surrender in his will trusting him that he is in control. This is an everyday choice for me to do, and it's a process.

DON'T BE AFRAID JUST BELIEVE

The story of the young girl did not end in death because Jesus was not able to arrived before time she died. As the bad news reached them, the father told Jesus not to come anymore because it's too late. But Jesus speak a powerful word that brought hope and life, Mark 5:36 Overhearing what they said, Jesus told him, “Don’t be afraid; just believe.” . It's not the end yet, is what Jesus meant. This is the promise and the assurance that he has for you and me whose encountering pause or break moment. Jesus already decided in his heart that he would heal that girl, and even death cannot stop it, because he heals and raise dead back to life. According to Jesus,Mark 5:39 “Why all this commotion and wailing? The child is not dead but asleep.” God is just putting to sleep some things in our lives and in the right time he will awaken that. Nothing is impossible to God, we all know that. We just have to believe it with all our heart, and the best way to activate it is to put it to the test.. its hard for us to see the impossible turning out to be possible when not put to the test.  2corinthians 12.9.But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. It is in our broken moments where God's power is highlighted. Give the spotlight to Jesus it's not for your drama moments. :)

                                                                  ❇❇❇

God has already appointed everything for us. If In his timeline you are scheduled to go through this specific season then so be it because He holds in his heart the purpose of why he sent it. Questioning God will not bring you good, it will only make the tough situation worse. DON'T BE AFRAID, JUST BELIEVE. I know it's not easy to do it, but we can do it through Him and make it an everyday decision, one step at a time. Though you have decided once to be forever with Jesus you have to strengten that decision everyday. As you wake up in the morning thank the Lord for another day, spend time in worshiping , praying and being filled by His Word. This will not prevent hard times to come, but it will prevent you from falling away.Do the things God called you to do. Be selfless in times of hardship; LOVE MORE.

These are just few powerful Word of God, reminding and encouraging us to keep moving in the midst of hard times.
*philippians1:6 Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

*Ephesians 6:18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

*2 corinthians 4:16-18 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

*2 corinthians 1:20 For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.

*Romans 8:32-39He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Let us continue to be strenghtened through God's word. keep calm, keep loving God,keep doing your calling because God is in control. The delays and detours that are taking place are the best ways to prepare us for the greater things that will come. Dont be afraid and just believe.:)
